Do Admissions Pay Any Attention to Parental Application Data?

We're in the early stages of early apps (mostly state schools here in North Carolina) with a bright, very articulate and outgoing daughter who is a solid student (75-80% percentile in academics), but not a Rhodes scholar candidate. I have ZERO worries about her future career (she'll do just fine), but I do worry as a parent about her ability to attend the schools she finds most appealing and that are appropriate for her academic resume.

Here's the question. Without an impressive college resume I've managed to start two companies and am CEO of a mid-sized public company today. Several in state college applications have questions about our background as parents. Specifically they ask about income, position, etc. Do admissions counselors even look at this data? For example, my daughter wants to pursue business and/or entrepreneurial studies. If I list my occupation as CEO and include my income (as some apps have requested) does the school consider this in any way? I could imagine this as a positive or a negative. On the positive, perhaps they see us as involved parents who could be substantial future contributors to the school, on the negative perhaps they see my daughter as "entitled" and not an interesting candidate.

Any thoughts guys?

Thanks,

No, all they want to know is if you will be paying the cost of her education, i.e. where to send the bills. She is the one applying to college, not you. If you already are a large [ i.e.. million dollar] contributor to a college, then she might be considered a "development admit", which is a form of "hook".
