Should we bother checking portals on Saturday or Sunday for admissions decisions?
Well it is not much of an effort to check, but I have not seen an acceptance go out on a weekend through two kids so far.
I’ve seen an update Friday night at midnight.
I can attest that some portals do update overnight after seeing it happen this morning. That tells me that it’s not useless to check portals at least on Saturday, since the updates could have been pushed through on Friday.
Boston University usually announces decisions on a Saturday.
Bates has released ED decisions on Saturday.
As noted above, some schools do release decisions on weekends. Note that some schools also announce in advance when they are going to release decisions - almost all of the schools my son applied to did this, although in a couple of cases, he heard ahead of the regular deadline. It’s worth checking the schools’ Social Media feeds to see if they provide this kind of information. You can also sometimes get a good idea by looking at the CC threads for specific schools from last year.
