Do American colleges use the metric system or imperial units? For instance, do they use ‘feet’ instead of ‘meters’?
Since meters etc. are widely known as SI units, therefore I’m thinking that they should be used, at least for courses such as physics, and mathematics.
Thanks!

in general conversation, students would use feet, but in formal science classes, i'm sure they'd use SI units.

Yeah. Meters in physics for sure.

Metric units have been used in all science courses since at least the early 1970's, and probably way before that. In normal conversation, nobody in the US would ever use metric units for weight(mass), distance, speed or temperature. The English units are fading some for volume since we buy 1 and 2 liter bottles of drinks, but milk is still sold by the quart.

Unless we're all super nerds and just conversing about PHYSICS!

Both. I've been known to use the Imperial Unit most of the time, although recently I've been using the Metric System.
