I'm applying to MIT, Cornell, Stanford, etc...those kinda schools.

I've gotten 4 Bs and 35 As in total...lol I actually counted them each semester.
I got a 3.89 GPA rank 5/499 in an average school.

Is that bad?

No, no it’s not.

If you have to ask… Yes, it’s very bad. Terrible. You will be rejected by all of them. Hell, if you get accepted, I’ll give you $1 million.

But I got the Bs in AP classes…two science classes, one math and one english.

I’m interested in the science field…lol…while I’m really good in science and math, I sometimes get lazy and don’t do the work.

I was curiously selected for the Caltech Signature Award though…

4 B’s?! ■■■■■ good luck getting into any school

^Are you serious?!

I really don’t know…looking at the stats people have here, its like you are expected to get only one B at the very least…

You’re obviously smart, so I wonder why you can’t tell that these people are obviously being sarcastic.

Yes, because you have more B’s than As and it is not just an inconsistent B once in a while.

Most people get like one or two B’s while taking 6 or more AP courses

When I opened this thread I thought by “Bs,” you meant ********. Funny how the people on this thread are BSing you. lol

Well I have a friend last year who applied to Princeton, had 2 B’s on his record (he took 10 APs) and still got in. He had an amazing app with kickass ECs though.

So I guess it depends on how strong the rest of your application is.

If you write fantastic essays and get amazing recs, you will have a shot. Believe it or not, not every single person who gets into those schools has a 4.0.

Nah. Just wait it out. Nothing you can do now, right?

This thread is the epitome for why people hate college confidential.

The sad thing is there is actually some pretty good information in here once you get past the exhibitionism of students with perfect SAT’s and GPA’s complaining and whining insincerely about having “no chance”, just so they can get lavished with attention they don’t get from there parents.

Ha! Like Dumbledorf, I thought this thread was “Does BS hurt your app?” Not Bs. Nooo. Be real!

It won’t kill your application.

im sorta confused, but I sorta get it…its hard to detect sarcasm on the internet.

i’d appreciate it if more people answer.

i don’t think it matters that much,
i’ve taken/taking 14 or 15 AP’s without any B’s, but it hasn’t gotten me in anywhere

^Decisions haven’t come out yet…unless you’re taking early or unless you’re from previous years.

Because, obviously smart is an ambiguous term. While many people here have obscene amounts of “book-smarts” only half of those people possess the intellectual depth to use those smarts properly. I, for one, appreciate people being blatantly sarcastic. I’m tired of reading people’s inquiries about whether or not their 2390 is too low for colleges, or if their ability to hold their breath under water only extending for about an hour is good enough, or some other nonsensical worry that I’m forced to see as an attempt to bolster their subconscious egotism by having people react favorably to their plight by assuring them that they are perfect. That’s right, my GPA may be low, but I know what you’re doing. Kisses.

Edit: I was quoting bigblack here for the “obviously smart”.
P.S. I hope this thread is a joke.

Allow me to apologize for my belligerence in previous posts, note this is partially out of social obligation and partially in case this was a serious worry. If it was in fact serious I highly suggest you use all that brain power you have to think of it like this: There are x people applying for your college, out of x people, I can assure you that 95% of the people applying are not waling around with perfect 4s. Not worrying works wonders.
