I was looking at princetonreview only like 1 percent of students at Cal state schools are out of state. Why and would they accept out of state students at all? I’m willing to pay out of state tuition
Yes they accept OOS students. They want the higher tuition. That’s why few do it. The UCs are considered the more prestigious schools so most OOS students try for those. If your family is willing to pay the $50K OOS cost then go for it. And you won’t ever get in-state rates per your other thread.
Here is a link to the admission stats for all the UC’s from 2013-2015. You will see many campuses accept over 50% of the OOS applicants. As @Erin’s Dad stated, the costs can be an issue for many applicants, so the number of OOS applicants are significantly less than in-state. Do not come to school in California and expect in-state rates after 1 year, unless your family permanently moves here,
UC just plain LOVES out of state – so much so that the Legislature has offered the system more $$ (more like $$$$$$$$$ or something like that) for admitting more California applicants whose parents have been paying taxes to support the system for years. Don’t mind me. I’ll just sit here in the corner and grumble.
Sweet! Please bring yourself and your $100K gift to the UC system out this way!
They do accept OOS, but give almost no aid, with tuitions as high as some privates.
They also have higher requirements than for in-state students.

Yes, but are your parents willing? What are they saying?
