Do college applications transfer over?

So I’m reapplying to a university I applied to last year…didn’t get in and would like to try again! the college requires 3 supplemental essays and im thinking about using the same two and reapplying one! Is this ok? Will colleges know? I just really like my two other supplemental essays and I think they are really, really good so I dont know if I can write other ones as awesome :frowning:

If you didn’t get into the college last year using those essays, why do you think you’ll get in with them this year? I don’t know if colleges keep apps on file or, if they do, for how long. I know they ask if you’ve applied before. What have you been doing the last year? Did you take a gap year or are you a transfer?

Maybe take those essays as a starting point and have some one look at them and give you feedback.
You also need to focus on what is different about you this year…what additional things have you done?

@gymasticsfan321‌: For whatever reason(s), your target college rejected you last year. Were poor essays part of the reason they did so? You’ll never know. However, wouldn’t it be wise to assume they were – especially since essays are almost the only thing you can now alter (unlike GPA, standardized test results, class rank, curricular rigor, etc.) – and to write significantly enhanced essays for your second attempt? That seems like the self-evidently correct approach to me.
