I know that for example Johns Hopkins has an “essays that worked” page displaying the best essays from previously admitted students. If you’re admitted to a school, would they ask permission to use your essay as example or do they just post it?
@redlotus27 I would think they would need your permission since it’s yours. But, if there is something somewhere in the common app that says after submission the essay becomes the property of the university then maybe they can just post it. My gut is that this isn’t the case. They most likely need your permission. Don’t forget the common app essay goes to all the colleges and the supplementals are obviously different for each college or university.
