My AP scores are 3s and 4s and I was wondering if colleges look at your AP scores as a determining factor in the application process.

Yes they do. These are beneficial, just as any standardized test, in telling a college about a student compared to other students from a different area/school. If the college is not familiar with your school, these AP scores could verify that you are an intelligent student. For example, if student A gets a 5 on history and a 3.7 in the class, then student B from a different school gets a 3 on history but has a 4.0 in class, the college would see that perhaps that school that student B goes to gives out 4.0s to perhaps less intelligent students. (Not saying getting a 3 makes you un-intelligent, just using comparisons) Passing an AP exam kind of "varifies" your grade in the class.

That said, reporting AP scores is OPTIONAL. If you include some 4s and 5s it looks good. If you choose to NOT include scores, colleges may be suspicious.
