Hey guys so my school is stupid and forces students to take General Science in 9th grade which is like elementary Physics. And we can't take bio until 10th grade. I am looking to major in biochemistry but it will be impossible for me to take 2 AP science classes. I wanted to take AP Bio and AP Chem. I heard bio is easier to self study for? IS it true? And do colleges care whether or not you took the AP class as long as you pass the AP exam. Say i self- study bio and get a 5, would colleges look down on me for not taking the AP class. I would self study for AP Chem but I heard the lab component is important.

No, they wouldn’t. I would think it’s the opposite.

Thanks! Then should I take an AP Chem summer course the summer after junior year? And then take AP Bio and Physics Honors during senior year? Or should I take an AP Bio course over the summer and AP Chem and Physics H during senior year. I am taking Chem Honors in junior year?

Where do you take the test if you self study? Can you only do the classes that your school and surrounding schools offer?

My school ordered my self-study tests and I took them there. I asked about it a few months before the tests. The only difference was that I was the only person taking them.

The second one. AP Chem is generally viewed as harder than AP Bio.
