Do Colleges check CST (STAR testing) scores?

I'm wondering if colleges see/check start testing scores that we all take each year in multiple subjects mainly math, english, science, and history. Should I study for these at all or just take it as they come? I need to study for AP exams also so that why I'm asking. Thanks.

No they can't check those scores. However, it's in your best interest to do well on them so your school's API score is higher.

not unless your HS puts the scores on your transcript -- our HS does not. Study for AP classes and SAT scores which ARE important. I would not spend five minutes of prep for the state cst.

bump, does anyone know if they have their CST scores put on their transcript?? please tell me if you have them on your transcript.

I can almost guarantee schools don't put those scores on your transcript.

even if they were on your transcript, colleges wouldn't take them into account. don't the tests differ by state anyway?

they are on my son's transcript -- but he is in middle school.

the easiest thing to do would be to ask for a copy of your official transcript and see what is on it. It is a good thing to do at least once a year to make sure there isn't anything wrong on it.

They put them on my transcripts, even from way back in third grade! they put my STAR testing scores from 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades on it as part of the "package" when you indicate you want the school to include your SAT/ACT scores. They also put my PSAT score too!

But yeah, I really don't think it's a big deal. Like everyone else touched on, you shouldn't worry about such an issue unless you intentionally plan to bomb the STAR test.

Also, have you tried talking to your school's counseling office? They'll be more helpful than any of us will be.
