Does STAR testing make a difference in college admissions?

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this question...

Anyway, for those that are unfamiliar with the STAR Test, it is a standardized test that everyone in California takes from 2nd grade to junior year of high school. I was always told that once you get into high school, the STAR Tests doesn't matter because they are used primarily for statistical purposes. I heard from a friend though that these do matter now and colleges may look into them. Is this true? Would colleges look at them even though they are not on the transcript?

MOST State proficiency tests don’t matter as long as you pass

I suppose if you wanted to be paranoid, it’s possible that STAR tests matter to the UCs, but not every CA kid takes STAR, so it’s tough to see how they could use them. If they are not on your transcript and not required by the UCs it’s tough to see how they could matter. For non-CA schools don’t even worry about it.

Thanks guys! (:
Haha I am paranoid about this but I don’t really think these standardized tests count anymore. If they’re not on the app, how are they going to get access? I doubt that admissions officers are going to take the time to hunt down a couple scores while a pool of applications are waiting to be looked at.

STAR tests effect the teachers and administrators and they in turn tell the students that colleges look favorably on good performances on these tests. Good results on the tests will give you a “golden state” seal designation on your diploma I believe.

Nope. STAR tests are worthless for the college-wannabes. During the Jr year STAR test time slot, however, CalState has added on a writing and math sub-test which I believe can be used to test for college-writing readiness. But that sub-test is not part of STAR per se.
