just asking.

Yes both of mine last year were at night.

Mine doesn't but people occasionally pull the fire alarm late at night/early in the morning. Usually in the bigger dorms.

Had one at 6:30 A.M. If they do that again Im pretty seriously considering rolling under my bed and sleeping through it. Definitely not getting up for inane crap if I have a midterm the next day (note: in case of actual fire, my window opens out onto an awning, so at least Im not getting cinderized either way. Second floor).

when someone burns their late night popcorn at 2:30am, you will be having a fire drill.

Depends on the college, but not likely. If the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night it is most likely people pulling a prank or messing with the equipment, an equipment malfunction, or a real fire. Drills are unlikely at this hour because none of the staff wants to work in the middle of the night!

Early in the morning is a different matter. The staff probably considers 6 AM early, and I know most students, including myself, consider 10 AM early so that can vary. 12 Am-6 AM, drill unlikely, any other time a drill is possible.

I've never had a drill in the middle of the night, but there have certainly been fire alarms in the middle of the night because of people either pulling pranks or burning popcorn.

We never have drills in the middle of the night, but occasionally in the bigger buildings an alarm will get pulled then.

The drills I've been in the building for have been in late morning (~11 AM)... I normally don't bother getting out of bed for them anyways (and the people who inspect the rooms do it too cursorily to notice). Fire drills are ridiculously stupid. They need to do them.. but I don't.

YES. and they're awful.

We never have drills in the middle of the night, but we did have the fire alarm go off at midnight one time because a girl was curling her hair or straightening it or something and the smoke from that set it off. Of course, no one is ever really asleep at midnight in a dorm, so it wasn't a huge deal but still a pain. All of our actual drills were in the evening, like 8-9 pm. Luckily, we never had the alarm accidentally go off in the middle of the night. I think we had them go off around 11am once, but I was on my way to class anyway.

8:30pm the last tuesday of every month is when our fire drills are. Occasionally they are mis-pulled or set off by other things though..

Yes. Also, if people are cooking in the public kitchen, expect many false alarms at night. Joy.

That would be so embarrassing for whoever cooked the burnt food..

YES.
at least once.

Yes- most likely a false alarm caused by cooking (or sometimes steam from the shower). Your RA or campus safety will usually give you a heads up if there's an actual fire drill- mainly just to get you out of the dorms so they can "check" through the building as quickly as possible to get it over with.

Yeah in the other dorm, the fire alarm is pulled hourly at crazy times of the morning some nights... I heard a sorority had it as part of pledging. I really pity the people there.

And if you don't get up, you get written up.
