I'm applying for transfer application this year. I attend an Ivy League school. Will my college, or at least the people who make the decision of acceptance or rejection, know what other colleges I am applying for as a transfer? I am also applying to other Ivy League schools as a transfer.

Also, if I am applying as an internal transfer within my college, will it look bad that I am applying to outside colleges as well?

I don’t know much about transfer admissions, but from what I understand in general, colleges have no way of knowing where else you applied unless you tell them.

I think that they can see what other colleges you submitted on your FASFA. But in general, that’s not something the admissions people would be looking at unless they become very “need” sensitive at some point in their admissions cycle. A lot of people don’t even submit their FASFA until after they been accepted–not a good idea but does happen.

As for looking bad, if it’s a situation where you have to apply for the transfer, it would seem to me that the college would be expecting you to consider other places as well. But again, it’s probably something that you would have to tell them for them to know.
