Subject is self explanatory.

Not usually. There was an earlier thread about this. Colleges DON'T know what other colleges you have applied to from College Board test scores--definitely. (I checked this with College Board.) Federal financial aid forms--but not institutional financial aid forms--appear to indicate where else the forms were sent, but usually financial aid offices don't communicate with admission offices in this way. The ACT test tracks which college is listed first in a student's request to send scores, but I'm not aware that this information is communicated to colleges in a way that matches individual applications.

I may merge the earlier thread into this one so that we can explore this issue some more. To me, the bottom line is that most colleges don't know where else you are applying, and even fewer care. The one notable--and completely legitimate--exception is that a college with an early decision program will want to know, and should care, about whether a student is applying ED to more than one college.

Thanks for your reply tokenadult. It concerned me because my interviewers have ALL asked which other colleges I've applied to.. and they seem to give the impression that they'll know if you're lying, as if the admissions office has already provided them this information.
