Do colleges like MIT/Ivies look at AP scores??

not to mention you could just be having a bad/unlucky day.

i know a girl who got into MIT this past year who had a really bad day on the day of the AP calc test and got a 3. She’s incredibly smart - I’m sure all her other achievements showed through as well as her wonderful personality.

just giving another example of non-grade-inflated low AP scores.

HiPeople is correct. I know specifically, for instance, that at my school the AP Physics teacher was quite good, but emphasized the mechanics part much over the E&M, and usually would leave a bunch of that up to his students. Everyone I talked to got a 5 on mechanics, but I was one of the few who really took the time to learn the E&M myself properly, and most didn’t even bother with the test – certainly many others who did hadn’t seen enough of the material, even if I believe both physics AP tests are quite doable for people with a little dedication.

…i’m seriously surprised. But after reading this, this is such a reliever, phew.
