do colleges look at combined SAT score?

on your SAT's, for example

you got (700, 800, 600) total 2100

and then, (750, 700, 560) total 2010

so your single highest score is 2100

but if you combine highest scores by sections,

it's (750, 800, 600) total 2150.

do colleges look at combined one or single one??

Majority consider your highest subscores from multiple tests to get a composite so it would be the 2150 (although many are now only considering the math and CR score and their total, for you 1550, and not the writing). However, there is a significant minority, including all UC's, that consider only that single SAT test with the highest composite score (your 2100).
