SAT Scores Query

So I just got my scores back, and I got a 770 Writing, but my Math and Critical Reading scores were mid-600s, landing me a mediocre 2080.

How bad does it look to colleges to get your highest scores in separate SATs? For instance, say I study Math and Critical Reading for the next few weeks amazingly hard and land mid-700s in the June test, but get lower than a 770 in Writing.

I know most colleges say they consider only your top SAT scores, but isn’t there some kind of subconscious impression there, when a student can’t land all his top scores in one sitting?

Any thoughts?

Most colleges will take your highest COMPOSITE score - the highest section scores from all of your testings.

Do you think you can you combine old & new Sat scores for composite?

Certain colleges will allow it (for the class of 2006), but others will not. Check with those at which you will apply.
