Do colleges look at improvement?

I didn't start thinking about college until recently, and I was not at all thinking about it during freshman year. My grades in freshman year were alright, but not great. My semester grades were mostly A's and a few B's. This year, I am working extremely hard and getting all A's and one B in the first semester. If I continue getting straight A's, do colleges notice that?

My gpa will be 3.9 unweighted by junior year. Will they notice that, and that I improved?

don't worry, 3.9 is good.

are u applying ED? because if you are, then they will definitely see senior yr sem.1 grades and consider it in the decisionmaking process

improvement is good, but if there is an equal applicatant who has been top throughout HS, he will obviously have the edge.

I was thinking about ED, and I actually talked about it today with my guidance counselor. She said it would be a good decision if I was 100% sure I wanted to go to that school, and I might do it.

sorry buddy no more ED after this year

Ah really? Hm, thats not good. Well, I haven't decided which school i'm 100% sure on going to so it isn't too bad for me.

improvement sometimes can be better than excellence throughout... You know ivies want to know the character behind the gpas, scores, essays etc..... and the improvement shows determination.....

So goodluck
