Do colleges look at the subscores for ACT

My son has taken them twice with the same composite of 29. However, if both tests are viewed, his high subscores in Math, English, and Reading are 30, 31, and 30 respectively. I got a response from an admissions officer that the difference is so small and wouldn't matter but send them both if you like. I would just as not pay to have both ACTs sent ot all the schools but the subscores help him. Any comments.

I think schools have different views on this. Some schools do superscore (take the best score). It's worth asking each school. My son was not accepted at his first choice school. In speaking to admissions after the fact, they told him that he needed one point higher in the English section to be admitted. If I would have sent all his ACT test scores, he would have been admitted.
