Do colleges look at your sophomore GPA or just mainly your junior GPA or overall ?

When I was a freshman I got a 4.0 for both semester and I had A's throughout the year. Now this year I have currently have 2 A's, 3 B's and 1 C. I am taking 1 accelerated class, 1 honors and 1 AP. I feel like I am suffering and my grades are horrible and I feel like an idiot. I really want to got to UCLA, Berkeley or USC. Would having a GPA of 3.3-3.5 put me at a risk?

When did your year begin? Surely it is too soon to panic. If you have just begun your sophomore year, take a deep breath and look around for resources that can help you. Does your school have academic support? Do your teachers offer extra help? Right now, your goal and your focus should be, not getting into which college, but getting over the potholes of this school year. What’s more, while downward trends may look bad, you don’t have one yet. What you have is a not-unusual transitional difficulty: maybe you’ve taken on too many tough courses too quickly, maybe your teachers are starting the year with a bang, maybe you’re overestimating your difficulties. Talk to your teachers, and then to your guidance counselor. Don’t panic! And keep a towel handy (Hitchhiker’s Guide Reference.)
