Do colleges really care about when you take AP exams?

I could either take AP Calculus BC Junior year or Senior year

If I take it as a Junior, I'll be able to get my score and send it to colleges.

But do you think it'll really make a difference if I take it senior year? How much do colleges weigh these AP exams? Is there any difference if you took the class before or after you apply to colleges?

I wouldn’t think they’d care about what year you take it as much as the important things like your GPA or extracurricular activities or community service. To find out how much they take APs into consideration you should try to look on CB website for each college’s “report,” I believe it says how important what tests are to them and how important your GPA might be to them as well.

It depends on where you’re applying. But if you’re not going much out of your way to do it, why not? It definitely can’t hurt to show that you have a strong math background when you apply. Though if you take it junior year, I’d try to take a math class senior year as well.
