Do colleges really look at the highest scores for individual sections when looking at SAT scores?

Hey,

Many colleges, such as Stanford, require you to send in all SAT scores, but it says it will only consider the highest scores for each individual sections. I am very skeptical about that because won’t low SAT scores still give a bad impact on the admission officers? If i only consider the highest scores for all my SAT, then it is over 2300 but if I look at them separately, then they are all in the 2100 range.

They say they do, so you might as well take them at their word. It’s not like there is an alternative or you can change the past. Just another example of “It is what it is.”
