do colleges require you put what college you apply for ??

Do colleges usually require that you put what college you plan to attend ?
for example, would U of michigan require that I put down college of engineering on the application ?? or can I put undecided…?

I believe you have to put down the college you're applying for. Cornell, for example, requires you to state whether you're applying for Arts & Sciences, Engineering, or Agriculture (or its other schools). Often the different colleges will have different admissions criteria; engineering colleges, for example, will look for talent in math and science. In another example, it is more difficult to get into Penn's Wharton business school than its nursing school. If you change your mind, you can usually transfer between colleges (not always).

It depends on the college and what school you're applying to. The requirements for colleges' schools can vary widely.

I did a bit of searching, and Michigan requires you to state the college you're applying to. Michigan has specific requirements for each school. See last year's application.

thanks for the info guys
