Do colleges see AP Seminar as a legitimate English class?

Schedule:
9- Honors English 9
10- Honors English 10
11- AP Seminar and Speech
12- AP Research and Ap Language and Composition

I am aware that most colleges don’t give credit for AP Seminar, so I am was wondering if they still see AP Seminar as an English class (my school counts it as one English credit and one general credit) because I didn’t want to apply to colleges and then have them think I only took 3 English courses.

Most consider it an elective - like journalism or yearbook, not as a core English course, but it varies by college.

Doubtful.

Take AP Language. Some colleges will give credit for completing General Writing if you earn a qualifying AP score.

My son did AP seminar and AP research. He is in engineering in college and was a stereotypical bad writer/great math kid. . This was his weak area and wanted to improve. These sets of APs where the most useful of the 8 AP classes he took. He is now a really good writer and first year English in college was a joke to him. He has written grants and proposals and done some research and was bored in college when they went over the different research techniques since he already had it in high school. It helped also with his oral presentations.

Most is self guided especially next year in research.

I think it is a very overlooked AP and for some very useful in college.
