I got a 2140 (690 CR, 740 M, 710 W) on the October 2010 SATs and am applying to a bunch of state schools and decided to apply to Cornell and possibly Duke also. I know these scores are not THAT great compared to the handful of people who will be submitting 2200s++++. However, my scores are all in the 99th percentile for each section for my high school and I feel like that looks pretty good to be getting one of the best SAT scores in the school. Do colleges see these numbers? Do they actually even matter to them?
Thanks!

I’m pretty sure that if they do look at percentiles, it will be the national percentile. But still, I wouldn’t fret. 2140 is above the 90th percentile nationally.

I don’t see how they’d get the percentile information for your school.

I’ve always heard they look at percentiles

How do you get percentile relative to school?
