Do colleges still use the academic index?

Not for sports recruits, but for normal applicants too? It kind of didn't make sense because there's no writing score and most colleges only require 2 sat subjects now......So do they?

Good Question! I was wondering about that too! Anyone care to answer?

Not really, no. Your academic index can tell you whether or not you’re likely to get into a school, but most colleges don’t actually calculate it out and use it to determine who gets admitted.

I have read (in A - for Admission) quite the opposite from what amarkov said. They actually do calculate it and even more so nowadays because computers made it so much easier. ;)

^the book is out of date but has pearls of wisdom.

Yea I’m curious myself, as far as I could tell from the book it’s almost unheard of outside the Ivy League anyway. Still it gives you an idea.

How do you caluculate it if you’ve only taken 2 subject tests?
