Do colleges take into consideration what’s offered at your school?

My school before this year only offered like 5 AP classes in general and didn’t allow students to do dual enrollment until they turned 16. Along with that the school I attend barely has any activities for students to participate in. However unfortunately for me just when I turned if age and enrolled myself full time in dual enrollment, they started adding a bunch of AP classes and 1-2 more clubs. So, I just wanted to know if colleges would see that these options weren’t available to me and take that into consideration or if it would just in general make me look as if I didn’t try.

Yes colleges do consider that. That being said “activities” don’t have to occur at school.

Look at your school’s website for the school profile, if it isn’t obvious, email your GC for a copy.

Talk to your GC. Ask to see the school profile and what your curriculum rigor is going to be rated by her. Also ask her is she could add verbiage explaining the change in courses available while you were midstream in highschool and you took the most difficult courses permissible at the high school.
