Anyone know?

Is it like 8 on a school day, 40 per week (what's the 6 from the first quote - number of maximum days one can work?)? If so what're the 3-18 and 4-23?

The first quoted means a maximum of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 6 days per week during the non-school year (i.e., summer and breaks). So you can work only 40 hours, but it can be spread out over 6 days. You cannot work 8 hours per day 6 days per week, because that puts you over the 40 hour maximum. You cannot work 10 hours per day for 4 days, because that puts you over the 8 hour per day maximum. The 3-18 means that during the school year, you can work a maximum of 3 hours per day, 18 hours per week.

Thanks for the information Chedva :)
