Do colleges typically give transfers decent need-based aid?

Mainly concerned with the University of Southern California. I didn't get in right off the bat, but I intend to transfer after a year or two at Pitt.

Will I still get a decent financial aid package coming in as a sophomore or junior? I'd love to go to USC, but if I've got to foot the entire 40k bill for 2 years it just isn't worth it.

You need to ask the USC financial aid office if they guarantee to meet full need for transfers and what percent of need they tend to meet if they do not. Also ask about % of loans to grants. Also ask if they are need blind when it comes to transfers. Many schools are not as generous with their transfers as they are with their freshmen.
