Do colleges value improvement in grades (like an upscale)?

I am a sophomore at a top public school, that is highly competitive
I did not do so well freshman year, but I am doing much better now.
All classes are advanced (accelerated), or AP if I put it down.
Freshman grades:
Geometry - B+
English - A
Spanish - A
World History - B+
Intro to Chem/Phys - B+
Band - A
Comp Sci - A

Sophomore grades:
American Lit - A/A-
Algebra 2 - A
Spanish 4 - A
US History - A
Bio - A
AP European History - A
Band - A

Aps that im taking next year:
AP Chem
AP English Lang.
AP Statistics
AP US History

Im planning on having around 10 or 11 AP classes throughout my whole high school career

I also have very good ECs

Do I have a chance at getting into a top school?

I’m not sure but I would assume the like an upscale in grades. A lot of schools don’t put so much stock into freshman year grades though since it’s a transition for some and at other schools it’s doesn’t challenge people. I think you definitely have a chance as long as you keep your grades looking like they are now and do well on sat’s and extracurriculars

Chill out. Your grades aren’t even that bad, especially since your only Bs were during freshman year (which has the least amount of weight in admissions).
