my grades sucked for my frshman and sophmore years. it was mostly B's and C's. will my chances of getting into a good college raise if i get A's my whole junior year and do really well on my ACTs and SATs?

Depends on your definition of a "good" college, what do you have in mind?

Oh some don't look at your Freshmen Year grades anyway (Stanford, Princeton, University of Michigan)

what do you consider a " good " college. Ivies don't really like a lot of C's. Also, your gpa is probably low, so that won't look good. but it really depends on what schools your looking at. Ivies = looks bad, States = okay

i have a similar issue, having gotten mostly Bs freshman and sophomore years and all As and a B+ junior year. it hurts my class rank but an upward treand is good, especially if you're taking difficult classes next year too. and i would emphasize doing well in harder classes(which would be more comparable to college than freshman year would be) on your application. it wont erase the other grades but will make you seem better than you would have, especially if you can provide a brief explanation(not an excuse) for the poor grades.
good luck!!! =]

Upward trend is always good, but i've never seen this addressed.

What if you did really good freshman year, got bumped to a harder courseload, and did bad since the classes were so hard. I mean, I challenged myself, just got owned. Hhahaah.

Most of the colleges in the US take the vast majority of applicants. You can still go to 80% of colleges, just not the top ones.

ok. There are alot of places that I want to go to. mostly in NYY becuase even though I live in ohio all of my family lives there. im not talking like Ivy league but i dont want to end up at a community college(no offense).

Just work hard Junior year, follow your passion through ECs and do a good on SAT/ACT and you'll be fine.

Yes, Junior year counts the most I think.
