Do CUNY's have a well rounded campus life?

I love the idea of going to a CUNY, specifically Queens college, but I have heard that there is a lack of campus life and the school unity that comes with it. By campus life I mean, clubs and out of class activities that push beyond CUNY’s rep of commuter schools (I go to class, I get lunch, I go home.). My top choice overall is Fordham University and that school is known for sports and activities and I would hate to sacrifice that completely if I go to a city school instead.
Do any current CUNY students as well as informed prospective students know about the campus life at any CUNY?

Hey i’m a baruch freshman. There are designated club hours twice a week at Baruch, when people don’t have classes and clubs meet and hold events. There are lots of cultural clubs and also a few frats, some community service oriented clubs, plenty of sports teams (NCAA div 3, i’m on a fall sports team and we had practice 5 times a week and competed once a week), and overall plenty of ways to be involved. Sure there are people who come, go to class, and go home, but you don’t have to do that. USG (undergraduate student government) plans lots of fun events and gives out free stuff a lot. For example in the fall there was an outdoor movie on baruch’s plaza, and there was free pie and hot chocolate and other food and pumpkin carving and stuff. And in like early february there was an event in the gym with bouncy castles and rock climbing and stuff. Because most people don’t dorm you miss out on that part of being involved in a campus life that other schools have, but there is some campus life and if you make an effort to join clubs you’ll have a good experience. At least at baruch
