CUNY school with the best student life?

I’m a music major (and hope to double major with Film Studies). I’m choosing between the CUNY schools. Only schools in or near the city, that I can afford. Was supposed to go to St. John’s University last year, but was too expensive. Which CUNY school has the best student life? Like parties and clubs. Which one feels like a usual college experience. I would like to go to parties, and join fraternities, but also be in or near the city, and take advantage of all it has to offer. I’m leaning more towards Queens College. Any advice?

@Moviebuff35855 None. You won’t make in life going to a CUNY school for that major. Just keeping it real.

I’m going to be completely honest with you because I wish someone had been truthful with me when I was applying -
The CUNYs in general are notorious for being big commuter schools and for lacking much of a “college experience”. On that note, though, Queens is definitely your closest bet if you are looking for a little bit of Greek Life and still some options when it comes to school clubs. I can vouch for this because I went there for 2 years myself! Last semester, I transferred to Baruch because I wanted to change my major to business administration and marketing - but I totally would have stayed at Queens if they had more business degree options. I’m not saying Queens is “the college experience” because it’s still far from it; but, it’s definitely much closer than the other CUNYs are to having a community PLUS Queens actually has a lot of nice outdoor space for students to do recreational junk and such. So yes, I say if you’re looking at the CUNYs, pick Queens.

Queens College also has dorms so you may get more of a college experience there. The school runs buses to the LIRR stations so you can get into the city fairly easily. I know, I know, Queens IS the city, but for those of us who grew up in boroughs other than Manhattan, going into the city means Manhattan, not Brooklyn or the Bronx.
