My Chem teacher said she would round me if I got a 3 on the AP exam. I am confident that I got this, but if I bomb the SAT II chem test, will she be able to see this? Are scores released to high schools, or are they private?
The scores are eventually sent to the high school that is shown on your admission ticket. Guidance Counselors may not upload them into Naviance for several months or never or may upload them immediately, so it may take more than a year to appear. Your Chem teacher may not see them unless GC gives access to her.
I was a lazy but smart student in H.S. I nearly flunked APUSH because I never turned anything in. But I got a 5 on the test. I called my teacher (who happened to be my uncle) and he called me a liar and that he could prove it once he got the scores. He had to eat his comment. Yes teachers have access to scores, and they should. If their kids are/aren’t passing, they absolutely need to know. How else can they guage their effectiveness?
@slaudsmom AP class teachers DO get the AP exam scores. Since not everyone takes SAT II Subject tests, the SAT scores are not necessarily known to the teacher who teaches the subject.
However, the HS does get the SAT I & II scores, even if the individual teacher does not have access (although many of them do). Whether the HS filters that info done to the individual teachers is another question.
