Hi. I applied regular decision to Penn but I'm really no where near the caliber of people that get accepted. My SAT 1s are somewhat close but my grades and SAT 2s are WAY, WAY, WAY below. All I really want to know is if these things even give me a shot or matter at all:

1 - I applied as a film major. I figure, how many people actually apply to Penn to major in that, as it's not really what they're known for. Will that give me an advantage at all? I also submitted the Common App Arts Supplement, which includes two films of mine and filmmaking in general is a big part of my Common App, being listed as my first extracurricular and the short answer question being about it.

2 - I'm super legacy. Both my parents went undergrad and my dad went grad as well. One of my grandparents went and four of my aunts and uncles did. Are they going to know about my aunts and uncles going, because there was no place on the application to list that, even if there was would it have mattered? I briefly mentioned that I had maternal and paternal aunts and uncles that went to Penn in my essays.

3 - I practically begged them to accept me in the optional essay. I made the page of my autobiography the moment I applied to Penn and I basically said I knew by all logic I wouldn't get in, but if they did accept me it would be a "moment of sheer bliss."

I knew going into the application that my chances were slim to none so I'm not really going to be hurt at all if you guys just flat out say I have no chance. Let me know what you think!
