Do I even have a 1% chance at getting into Penn?

Hi. I applied regular decision to Penn but I'm really no where near the caliber of people that get accepted. My SAT 1s are somewhat close but my grades and SAT 2s are WAY, WAY, WAY below. All I really want to know is if these things even give me a shot or matter at all:

1 - I applied as a film major. I figure, how many people actually apply to Penn to major in that, as it's not really what they're known for. Will that give me an advantage at all? I also submitted the Common App Arts Supplement, which includes two films of mine and filmmaking in general is a big part of my Common App, being listed as my first extracurricular and the short answer question being about it.

2 - I'm super legacy. Both my parents went undergrad and my dad went grad as well. One of my grandparents went and four of my aunts and uncles did. Are they going to know about my aunts and uncles going, because there was no place on the application to list that, even if there was would it have mattered? I briefly mentioned that I had maternal and paternal aunts and uncles that went to Penn in my essays.

3 - I practically begged them to accept me in the optional essay. I made the page of my autobiography the moment I applied to Penn and I basically said I knew by all logic I wouldn't get in, but if they did accept me it would be a "moment of sheer bliss."

I knew going into the application that my chances were slim to none so I'm not really going to be hurt at all if you guys just flat out say I have no chance. Let me know what you think!

You definitely have a chance. No sarcasm.

Legacy helps ed

one can never guess. People who get an almost perfect score on their test sometimes cant get in while applicants that has horrible grades can. Every one has a chance  and of course, legacy helps.

My calculations are reading 0.093222, repeating of course, percent. Sorry.

Thanks for the responses!

Any way I can get some more detail though in regards to the points I mentioned besides legacy? Particularly applying as a film major, that, to me, seems like the most interesting part of my application but i have no idea if they’ll see it the same way.

Also, aluminum_boat, when you say “ed”, do you mean that legacy only helps if I applied early decision? Will it not matter because I applied regular?

you have a chance, like any other person applying. However, I would like to know why you want to go to Penn. Even if you get in, you’ll be in well over year head. If you can’t pull it, why would you want to do it? Will you really be happy with a 2.0?
