Do I even have a chance at U Chicago?

With the super-competitive college admissions process, I know there are so many other students out there with academics comparable to my own. I was wondering if my love for research put me at any sort of advantage, even though I have not participated in some of these science competitions. I plan to enter the Intel STS competition, but I want to apply to U Chicago early, so I won’t be able to list this on my app. Do I have a shot amongst such competitive applicants?

Obviously you have a chance! You’re very lucky to have had such opportunities. Don’t make yourself out to be less than you are.

Bump

But I’m worried I look exactly like many other applicants. Really haven’t concerned myself in being unique, I just pursued things I liked. I’m fearing this will render me to have little to no chance.

youre going to be pretty competitive for uchicago! you can set yourself apart in your essays. i think you are unique in that you have a science focus to your ECs, and you have research experience. you have good chances for most schools, i think.
