Please HELP

With a 590 CR you have a slim chance of being admitted.

People here on CC really make their decisions based solely on your standardized test scores, GPA, and a glance your ECs. They will tell anyone without a good SAT score that you he won’t getting despite the fact that many have gotten in without which. Really, we can’t possibly look at everything an adcom would see and there is so much more to an application than what you can post on a forum, so you can pretty take everything said here with two grains of salt.

…it is called reality. Only 12% of the current Sophs had CR scores below 600. How many of those 12% do you think were: 1) Recruited athletes 2) Legacies 3) Professors children 4) Underrepresented minorities 5) Children whose parents owned farms that work with Cornell Cooperative Extension ??? By all means the OP should do everything they can (write great essays, get good recs, etc.) to be admitted, but the reality is that their chances are slim.

Perhaps a 590 would make admission quite difficult.

Anyway, that comment wasn’t directed towards you or this situation specifically, but rather the general trend of what I’ve seen here on CC.

amen.

dont read this!

Thanks for all of the replies. I never studied for the SAT, and I’m taking the ACT on december 8th and studying as hard as I possibly can. If I got a high score, would it be possible?

If you get a +31, then you won’t have to send your SAT 1.
