your academic stats look good but you need more EC's

Where do you live and what is your HS rank?

gold heart thief, how much does region truly effect admissions? (just wondering)

michael your test scores are solid, the fact that your hs is ranked within top 50 is good, and you have a very good amount of community service. jli2006 is right though, you should try to get more extra currics. I'm just a freshman and all, but I figured I'd give my objective view

michael:
Don't do anyting you don't like. Just do whatever you belong. I know for sure extra EC is not good for everyone. If your family are well off, you have tons of time to spare. You ought to help others and do ecs. If you family needs your help, you better help family...... Things good for admission is very case-sensitive for each unique person. The key is never doing things long for hour-numbers. Selective colleges look for leadership, doing things for numbers of hours definitely shows lack of leadership quality.

that's true. i guess ill continue my quest for my true "passion."

i dont know my HS rank currently by the way but most likely top 10% since its by the weighted gpa

I'd say you have a slight chance unless you are from New York or any other very competitive state. To be honest I'd be fairly suprised if you got in from anywhere, but with good essays you might have a chance. Your problem is that you don't stand out.

that is true and i realize that. which is why i decided to post here. would NMS finalist make a difference?
