Your grades really aren’t that bad as you did take an extremely rigorous course load and if honors count as weighted at your school (they do at mine) then you have a pretty good GPA still. Your ACT is really good with a 24 being the top 99th percentile of test takers. Your EC’s are obviously amazing. What stood out to me was you starting your own company, and your speech and debate nationals placing. Top 40 is really good! I think that you are the kind of student that gets into Ivy leagues as you have amazing EC’s which is what sets you apart from everyone else. I think you have a good chance of getting into Dartmouth EDU, and John Hopkins, as well as maybe some other ivy leagues.
Some off topic questions, what debate do you do? I do Lincoln Douglas at my HS. Also how did you study or prep for the ACT?
I think you definitely have a good shot at getting into your dream colleges, and I wish you all the best!
CW Post? Do you live in Long Island? If so, I do too!
A 96.5 unweighted is not bad at all, I think you have a great chance for Cornell and most of the others, Dartmouth is a reach for anyone and so is JHU.
I think you have an impressive resume. That said, Dartmouth, JHU, Cornell, Northwestern and Berkeley OOS are all tough admits and while I would bet you’d be admitted to at least one, I think to be safer you should consider adding another layer of apps to a school or two in the Wake Forest/Tulane/Boston College/Northeastern/NYU/U of Rochester group.
Also be sure to apply to an admissions (and cost…) safety. Typically that’s going to be one of your in-state public schools or a less selective private school.
With all apps, be sure you like the school (check for academic, environmental and social vibe “fit” variables) and can afford it without taking on too much debt. If you like and can afford all the schools to which you apply, you’ll only have good results.
Oh absolutely, I only posted my reach schools because I figured thats what I needed the most help with. I’ll definitely be applying to matches and safeties as well.
I think that you’d be a great contender for admission to Dartmouth. I would only advise you to make sure that your essays are in shape. Your ECs are quite impressive, but just make sure that you describe them in a way that shows both your accomplishments and your qualities (ie don’t just list off achievements as the president of some club, but tell stories that show what you learned/overcome/etc)
