Do I Have A Chance At Upenn?

<p>Hi, I REALLY want to go to UPENN and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on what my chances are.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0
ACT: 32</p>

<p>Junior Year Courses:
Accounting
Physics Honors
AP English Language
College Writing
AP U.S. History
Pre-Calculus</p>

<p>Senior Year Courses:
Astronomy
English Honors
AP Statistics
AP Government
AP Calculus</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
I am not enrolled in any extracurricular activities. (however, my brother went to UPENN and got in w/o any EC's)</p>

<p>With no ECs, it won't happen. Penn is more competitive than ever now.</p>

<p>Join the army then apply 2 years later. Not only will it give you a kick ass page 217 essay, it will also be an EC very few other freshmen applicants will be able to write (limiting the cliche factor). It's basically the ultimate EC (and will lower the need for a draft).</p>

<p>I moved here from an asian country where all males have to join the army for 2 years - would it be that big of a hook considering it's so common for int'ls?</p>

<p>I honestly know nothing about international admissions. Maybe it will help you a little, but if you need financial aid, it probably has a larger effect on your decision than almost everything else.</p>

<p>Maybe if you have some sort of hook but I can't really find one since u don't have any EC's.</p>

<p>With out ECs, no chance AT ALL. I am serious.
U of Penn made it very clear that academics ALONE will not get you admission.</p>

<p>Sorry i had everything ( like four hooks) but a ****** low test score got me deferred and then rejected. save the 70 dollars</p>

<p>I had no "legit" EC's and that still got me a wait-list (when I predicted a rejection). No one really knows. </p>

<p>My EC's were Photography, and my own instrumental-jazz-fusion band (I sent them a CD of my work). </p>

<p>My grades were alright, 3.79 UW, 32 ACT ss -> 33.</p>
