My grades went down hill sophomore year that was when my dad suffered a heart attack. Both of my parents have heart problems. My mom also has major lung issues. Ended up taking care of them

.... please be honest.... what I'm really concerned about is my grades... they suck really hard...

I saw your other thread and being non-Caucasian will certainly help as will applying ED, but honestly I don't think you have great chances. I'm just being brutally honest, but especially if you aren't sending SAT's, your grades just aren't great. I think that grades can be excused if you have an upward trend, but that does not seem to be the case. On the plus side you do have a pretty rigorous schedule. If I were you, I would also write a letter explaining some of your circumstances to the adcom and just reiterate your desire to attend. I wouldn't say you have no chance, and I'm not a betting man so I don't want to put odds or anything. You definitely do have some things going for you and I wouldn't be surprised if you got in. Anyway, best of luck!

PS: After stalking your other posts, I would definitely look into some safety/match schools, because while you might get into a few of the schools you posted about, you could also get rejected from them all. Don't reach so high, or if you do have some contingency plans.

SAT 2120

Also, out of the 400 students I was the only person to take AP Bio and Honors Pre-Cal (AP Bio and Honors Pre-Cal are the hardest classes you can take at my school)

Honors Pre-Cal= Only 12 Students including me, all Math Team

Yeah I know, I have some really good safety schools that are not instate so I'm pretty much set

Thank you

Why aren't you sending SAT scores? They would certainly be a plus, IMO.

to low.....

SAT 2s

History 650
Math Level 1 610

You certainly have a warped view. A 2120 is very good, I'd certainly send that in. If you don't the adcom is just going to assume they are really low like 1600 or 1500. With that kind of score that is definetly is a bonus.

Crap... I was thinking it wasn't enough to make up my crappy GPA.... that's why I'm retaking it December 6th

madjoker -- D, now a junior at Wake, had SAT scores considerably lower than yours. OTOH, her GPA was quite a bit higher. I would definitely send them.

Well its to late because I applied ED

well if you get deferred, definately send in your sat scores. maybe not your satII math score. your ecs are decent and although your gpa is not that great you took a lot of high level classes. but wow those sat scores are much higher than mine (1930) so no doubt show them if you get the chance. ed also increases you chances so i think youve got a decent shot despite your grades.
