I am a going to be a senior and would like to apply to this school for business. My sat scores are 1160 and gpa is a 3.0 i am expecting to take the sats again and they may go up and i am hoping to improve my gpa what are my chances? I live in pittsburgh?

Your GPA is a low for the Main Campus. I'd say if you can get your GPA to at least a 3.3 with a 1300 CR/M SAT, you'd have ok shot.

Admissions told me that the business school is one of the hardest colleges at psu to get into. I think a 3.3 is still a little low. To be realistic, you only have one more quarter to bring up the GPA anyway, since they aren't going to be looking at your final gpa at graduation, but your gpa at the time of application. Your best bet would be to apply early (October) and indicate that you are willing to start in the summer session (from what I hear, summer session admissions are more lenient). Good luck!

Check me on this, but I think you can apply for the summer session as "undecided" and then apply to the business school when you have to declare a major. Maybe that is an easier way to get to main campus. (Of course, if your GPA is low at the time of declaring your major, you may not get what you want because business majors are restricted.)

That's right. I also heard that going from DUS to Smeal is VERY, VERY, VERY hard.

Whether you are admitted directly to Smeal as a freshman or go in 'undecided' you need to have at least a 3.0 in your 4th semester to gain entrance to almost all the business majors. For finance, you need a 3.4. I think economics is a 2.0.

I am in undecided and I am trying to transfer into Smeal end of sophmore year. My major will be finance which means I need to have a 3.0 gpa end of freshman year and a 3.4 CGPA end of sophmore year.

What about if you were interested in Computer Science? Would it be hard to transfer into Computer Science if you go in undecided?
