Can you tell me where you were accepted? I thought you sounded like a strong candidate. Thanks.

^Sure.

So far:

Accepted: Michigan State, Indiana University-Bloomington, Ohio State, Iowa State

Deferred: Purdue, University of Michigan

Rejected: University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois

still waiting on a bunch of California places and UVA.

…likely attending Mich. State or Indiana.

good luck!!

^Cody…don’t beat yourself up over U of I. You probably already know this, but your U of I now is not like your parents (or grandparents) U of I. I have peers/friends who went years ago and said all you needed back then was a B average and a pulse, for the most part, and you were accepted. It is a far different scenario now. My son’s friend was deferred with a 3.7 GPA and 33 ACT - for LAS!!! I always say, “what is meant to be, is meant to be.” I know you will be happy wherever you decide to matriculate AND they will be happy to have you as a student!

Tmac18, you have to until Feb. 19? But you apply for engineering. Cody is Media/Film

The admissions results this year at my school are surprising. One applicant who had taken a very rigorous course load (almost all AP’s offered at school), had 3.90 unweighted, ranked 14/420, and was involved in numerous ECs was rejected early. His ACT score was 32. Several other students with similar class ranks and ACT scores 30+ were also rejected; some of them were accepted to Northwestern ED.

i think you have a solid chance, definitely a match for you. I got into Business with similar stats and curriculum, Out of state too, less ECs but slightly higher class rank, and a 33.5 (34) ACT score. Heck, I wrote the essay in 30 minutes on the site thinking UIUC was a safety school I didn’t want to go to, but it is definitely a choice I didn’t go wrong with. Good luck! and I wouldn’t be worried if I were you.

Ok *** how did you NOT get in. I got into the college of engineering with the exact same stats - even worse EC’s.
