Do I have a chance of going to these colleges?

b@r!um - But uni is my dream, I’m resitting my A Levels so I can hopefully go, it’s not something I’ve wanted for a week, I’ve wanted this for like 3 years. I was going to be an Au Pair but uni sounded more appealing. I have no idea what to do any more.

I’m originally from Germany. Came to the US for college and got lucky and won my Green Card in the lottery!

They are okay colleges for the average American college student. They’ll get an average job coming out of a CSU, which is good enough for most people.

CSUs are probably not a good option for a foreign student though. You probably won’t find an employer who’ll sponsor you for a work visa coming out of a CSU. And you probably won’t earn enough money to pay back those gigantic student loans either.

CA students pay lower tuition rates and they qualify for state and federal grants, so they’ll spend much less money on their education. They can reduce their expenses even more by living at home and commuting to college. It’s a completely different ballgame. Your local public high school might be good for kids living in the neighborhood who attend for free; but would it be worth $30,000 a year?

Yeah you’re right thank you, going to a CSU wasn’t my best plan. Could you please suggest some reputable schools for me to research? I seem to be picking all the wrong ones. I mean ones that I could possibly get into and don’t cost like $60,000 a year. If you can’t I completely understand but if you can it would be really helpful. I’m hopefully majoring in media or film studies or mass communications or acting or theatre studies.

Goodluck! Your stats aren’t bad
Just make sure you get high in your SATs and write a good essay. Show that you’re one of a kind and unique!

ElleLopez- Thank you
