I’m current attending College of DuPage, which is about 30 minutes away from DePaul. I have just over 30 credits of completely transferable classes. I have a 2.3 gpa (I finished last semester with a 1.9) but I quit my job so I could focus more on my classes. I’m considering taking summer classes full-time and one of them is a programming class. I calculated that if I do well as in A’s or B’s I can get up to a 2.6 or a 2.8. I want to attend Fall 2015 in Computer Science and DePaul states that I need at least a 2.0 to apply to the College of Digital Media and Computing. Should I apply as undecided? I’m also going to write a personal statement, I’m also a first in the family.
Bumb help!
My advice is to finish your associate’s at COD and get your GPA way up there. A lot of programs require a 3.0
If you have any personal struggles to elaborate on, be sure to do so on the application. This may help to explain your GPA. It can’t hurt to apply. I’m sure if you don’t get in and reapply later, you’ll have a better shot- especially if you pull up your grades. Don’t count yourself out until you try!
