Do I Have A Good Chance At UCSD?

Okay so I kind of screwed around my freshman and sophomore year so I'm a little worried if I can get into UCSD; especially with my low SAT score.

I have taken AP US History, AP Psychology, AP Lang, AP Chemistry, Honors Chem, Honors English 2, Honors Pre-Calc, and am currently taking AP Gov & Econ, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics, and AP Lit. (These are all the AP and honors classes I took.)

I don't have any spectacular extracurriculars (which is what I'm kind of worried about). The only note worthy thing is that I am part of a pre-med class which allows me to shadow physicians and go over medical terms. (I want to be a doctor) And I also have 200+ hours from random things but mostly orchestra and medical related things. I've been in orchestra for 9 years. And... that's about it for my extracurriculars.

My unweighted GPA is 3.80 & my UC GPA is 4.07. And my SAT score is 1860... Do I have good chances or am I unlikely to get in? I'm also considering Davis. Thank you!

Oh, and I passed all my AP tests with 4’s if that makes a difference. :p

Your UC GPA is below the average admit class but not by far. You might get in if you don’t apply to competitive major. Add more lower tier UCs just in case.

Is psychology considered a competitive major?

Psychology is one of the top 5 majors thus competitive. I suggest you retake that SAT and aim for a 2000+ for a better chance at an acceptance. Your Stats are competitive for UCI/UCD/UCSB/UCSC so you have many more choices in schools.
Showing a passion in your EC’s like orchestra and the MD shadowing will help with your admissions. You do not need 10 EC’s to make your application look good. Good Luck to you.
