Do I have a shot at any of these colleges??

I'm 17 years old and a junior right now. I am very interested in politics and hope to major in political science and one day get a job in DC. I'm from Guam so I hope the fact that I am some form of minority will help me out when I go through the admissions process. I am number 10 in my class as of the end of my junior year but I'm really going to work next year to make that number rise. My unweighted GPA right now is about a 3.5 and I know unweighted that it is not the best. My combined SAT score is an 1810 and that too is not the best. I plan on retaking the SATs in October and can hopefully raise my score then. I really want to get into a good school with a good financial aid program and my dream school since I was 12 has been Berkeley. Please tell me what chances you think I have of getting into any of these schools, how well their financial aid is, and of any other universities that have a good political science and internship opportunities THANKS!

- I have been in this program for the past 3 years

Improve your SAT score. Admission decisions come out in March so you won’t be able to choose whether to take AP Calc and English. You dont seem to have taken very rigorous classes, so if you can handle them, take those two classes.

UC Berkeley - reach

UCLA - reach

UC San Diego - low reach

UC Davis - high match

UC Irvine - high match

American University - match

George Washington University - low reach

University of Rochester - low reach

Syracuse University - match

Fordham University - match

University of Washington - match

You should apply to some safeties.

Thank you for the feedback! It really helped. In regards to the not taking rigorous courses part, I go to a small school, only about 450 kids in the entire school, and they don’t offer a lot of hard courses apart from the standard curriculum. Does it still count if admissions departments see that I’ve taken all the rigorous courses that are available to me? What are your ideas of some safety schools that would be a match for me in your opinion? THANK YOU!
