Even if you were valedictorian from Big State U with over 20,000 kids they would rather take a kid with a 3.2 GPA from the lowest Ivy.
So getting into a top school is important for Wall Street jobs. Once you get in, there are plenty of majors where you can breeze by with a 3.2.
