Do I have a shot at Binghamton's School of Management?

I’m in-state (New York), and I just finished my junior year. Currently, my overall high school GPA is about a ~96% with primarily honors and AP classes (APUSH, AP Lang & Comp, AP World History, SUNY German 1, and College Accounting, with everything else being honors except for Grade 10 English due to scheduling conflicts, but that’s neither here nor there). I got a 2010 on the SAT (1350/1600), and a 32/36 on the ACT with writing. I plan on majoring in accounting and being able to sit down for the CPA exam. I did fine in the accounting class (94% unweighted, 99.64 weighted). For extra curricular activities, I’ve been part of the school newspaper for all of junior year and will continue to work in it for senior year. I’ve also been a school tutor for all of last year as well, and given my service for the school (and the fact that I filled out my application correctly), I’m assuming that I’ll get into National Honors Society next year. I’m also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have been playing guitar and bass guitar since was 10 (I’ve been the bassist for the school jazz band in 10th, 11th, and soon to be 12th grade).

My class rank as of a year ago is 109/836. It hasn’t been updated yet with my junior GPA (I’m banking that it went up just a smidgen).

So, given that onslaught of information, and assuming that I write a good college essay, do I have a shot at the Binghamton SOM’s accounting program? I’ve sort of given up on Cornell’s Dyson school (8% acceptance rating, are you kidding me?), and Boston College’s Carroll School, even if I managed to slip into that one, would be too expensive. I’ve been told that Binghamton’s SOM is the most selective school at already the most selective college in the SUNY system (supposedly), with something like a 24% or 25% acceptance rating.

And if you even attended Binghamton’s SOM, I’d very much like to know your high school GPA and test scores, just to get a sense of the school’s acceptance standards.

@McGuire12 You are correct in what you said above. I just went through the admissions cycle with my son. He had virtually identical scores as you and very similar gpa. He got deferred early action from SOM but got accepted in March as part of the regular decision applicant pool. It is important to show demonstrated intetest to the school. Binghamton’s SOM is the most difficult school and has the lowest acceptance rate (perhaps other than seeking admittance as a computer science major at Stony Brook) of all the SUNYs. Your ACT score (32) is better than 1350 (CR & M),which is approximately equivalent to getting a 30 or 31. You may get deferred to the regular decision applicant pool if you apply early action but with your scores you have an excellent shot of ultimately being accepted in March or early April when Binghamton lets all the applicants know.
