Do I have a shot at USC? (chances)

Application deadlines are getting closer everyday and I'm getting nervous. I live in NY and would more than love to go to USC. Here are my stats, please be honest and tell me straight forward if I have a good chance, little chance, or absolutely no chance at getting in. Thanks in advance guys.

Academics:

GPA (UW): 3.5 (although my school doesn't calculate weighted, my weighted GPA is probably around 4.1 maybe 4.2)
Class Rank: No idea my school doesn't rank
SAT: 1510/1600 (770 M + 740 CR)
SAT: 2140/2400 (770 M + 740 CR + 630 W)
SAT II: Math I 750, Chemistry 760 (going to take Math II, hopefully 700+)
APs: AP CHEM (4), AP US HISTORY (4)
Class Rigour: I've taken as many honors courses as possible, I took 2 AP classes (Chem, US) my junior year and this year I'm taking 4 APs (BIO, ECON, CALC, GOV)

ECs:

-~50 volunteer hours
-Interned at a software company during the summer of 11' and 12'. (Writing my essay about this)
-4 years varsity track
-1 year varsity soccer
-4 years in film club
-Executive producer of film club during my senior year
-Elected onto student council my senior year (secretary)

Misc Info:
I'm thinking of majoring in Economics.
I'm asian (Indian)
I'm from NY (OOS)
My senior year GPA is on par to be 3.9 which is a big improvement
My parents can afford to pay full tuition (no financial aid is needed)

And so that is pretty much all I can think of right now. Please let me know if I'm missing anything because I as I'm writing right now I'm getting a feeling that I'm missing some vital piece of information. Anyways thanks for reading and chancing me.

mailman,
USC is a private university. It is not necessary to be from California. The university has a need blind admissions policy.

It is difficult to guess on who will be admitted. Last year SC had more applications than any other private university in the U.S. The admissions committee is more concerned with the unweighted GPA. Yours is below the average of those admitted last year.

Your application and accomplishments must “stand out” from over 40,000 other seniors. Do the best you can in the classroom and submit a stellar essay. Good luck!

Come on guys someone help me out. I’m in the dark over here.

 • Do you have a “good” chance? No. Your test scores are in the middle 50% but your GPA is below the average and your ECs (except for the internship) are pretty standard. GPA, test scores and ECs would ALL have to be above the average for a “good” chance.
 • Do you have “no” chance? No. As long as you submit an application, there is always at least a chance that you will be admitted. It is only “no” chance if you do not apply.
 • Do you have “little” chance? Yes. With your GPA there will have to be something that stands out to get you admitted - maybe your internship and essay will do that for you. The rest of your ECs don’t really jump out.

The standard terminology for your chances would be a “reach.” But others with a similar GPA have been admitted, so you never know. USC is need-blind so being able to pay full cost (about $60,000/year) will not help.

Hopefully that sheds some light.
